This course will cover how to convert ideas into working cosmetic product prototypes, along with the testing needed to demonstrate their safety and effectiveness.
Specific topics to be covered:
- Developing a product description from an idea
- Generating and finding starting formulas
- Techniques for creating prototypes
- How to test and refine prototypes, including testing for quality/stability, functionality, and claims
- Working with different packing materials
In addition to the above items, the course will also contain a high-level overview of the upfront ideation process prior to prototype development, as well as a basic overview of the current US regulatory environment for cosmetic products.
Who Should Attend
This course will be useful for scientists, as well as those working in sales and marketing. this includes formulators, quality control chemists, regulatory scientists and product development professionals. those working in raw material sales will also benefit from learning all the development issues facing cosmetic formulators.
In addition, small business owners and those developing their own cosmetics and personal care products will gain valuable knowledge and insight concerning the development of cosmetic product prototypes.
